A small aircraft crashed and caught fire near a riverbank in Fresno, California at about 1:50 p.m. local time on the 5th. Two children were pronounced dead at the scene; two adults were hospitalized in critical condition. Firefighters contained the blaze to prevent spread to nearby homes. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board will send investigators; cause has not been released.
