European Space Agency Director Joseph Aschbacher warned Europe could face a domestic launch‑vehicle shortage around 2030 as satellite launch demand rises. ESA is assessing future launch needs and projects total launch requirements from current and planned constellations and missions will peak around 2029–2031. Aschbacher said he will raise the issue with ESA member states to ensure Europe can use domestically produced rockets to meet demand.
